A small, unpretentious restaurant just off Taipa Village's main road, on the corner of Rua de S. João and Rua das Virtudes, A Petisqueira offers typical Portuguese fare, including charcoal grilled, roasted, or boiled codfish; grilled sole with lemon butter sauce; grilled king prawns; paella; fried tenderloin steak Portuguese-style; grilled sea bass; and curried crab. The fresh cheeses are especially recommended. Of course, everything tastes better with Portuguese wine.
